Our Services

professional dog grooming

Dogs come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Cleopetra’s caters to the needs of both the pet and parents, shaping the grooming experience to fulfill our clients wishes and pets needs. We do not fashion a one-cut-fits-all approach; each pet is different and we will do our best to meet the requests of our clients, coat and condition permitting. Our ideal client has a well-behaved pet that is on or will be on a regular grooming schedule.

Grooming requires a substantial amount of patience and experience handling dogs. Ensuring each pets safety is the single most important facet of our business, therefore, we do not rush the grooming process to save time. Accordingly, we do not take on pets that are beyond the scope of our abilities or that may present a safety concern for either the pet or groomer. These may include pets that are too large to physically handle or manage, and dogs that are not stable enough to be around other pets or have shown aggression during the grooming process.

Full grooming / Maintenence grooming

Cleopetra’s offers grooming services to fit each pet and owners unique needs. Pets requiring full grooming services (think Bichon’s, Shih Tzu’s, Doodles) can obtain an all-over, full body cut or, a maintenance service that addresses only the face, feet, & sanitary areas. All grooming services include a bath using the best products for the job, hand blow drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and the agreed upon cut and style.

Bath only dogs

While some pets require hair trimming and maintenance, others may only need a good bath and deshedding. Labs, Frenchie’s, Pug’s and other breeds that shed can benefit from a good bath and condition, followed by brushing and deshedding to remove the undercoat you see all over your house. Pets will be properly bathed and deshed, ears cleaned and nails trimmed as part of the grooming service.

SERVICES WE DO NOT PROVIDE

What we do not offer:

  • Cat grooming

  • Nail only trimming of non-client pets

  • Teeth Cleaning or express anal glands

  • Once per year shave downs of matted pets

  • Flea treatments

  • Grooming pets that show aggression or any indication that might compromise a pet or groomers safety

PUPPY VISITS

Establishing a positive introduction to grooming is essential for dogs that will require a lifetime of maintenance. Once puppies have received their core vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, etc.), your puppy should be able to make their first visit to the groomer, which is roughly around the 4-month mark. (Please be aware that rabies vaccinations are required by state law.)

Our puppy 1st visit is to acclimate them to the sounds, scents, and environment, and to establish a positive experience at the salon. They will be able to explore and play, and once settled in, we will begin to introduce them to the basic aspects of grooming - brushing/combing, trimming around eyes, feet, & sanitary areas, and nail trimming. We do not recommend putting the puppy through an entire process of bathing, drying and full body trimming, as this can be quite overwhelming. Our process results in a puppy that has had a pleasurable, positive experience, along with establishing a bond with the groomer which is essential for productive grooming.

PRICING

Safe and proper grooming requires a high degree of skill and patience, and inherently involves risk to both pet and groomer. Fast and cheap are two things that can lead t0 issues and injury when grooming dogs. At Cleopetra’s, the highest quality of care, coupled with nearly 30 years of experience is what we offer to clients. As such, pricing is determined by breed, size, coat/condition, temperament, and style of cut, and is quite difficult to quote without meeting the pet first. Imagine asking a painter the cost to paint your house without them ever seeing the condition, size, and challenges associated with the job.

Generally speaking, full grooming services start at $75-$80 and go up based on the previously mentioned criteria. (Exceptions can be made with small pets that require a limited amount of work.)

I just love the owners of Cleopetra’s Grooming! They do fabulous work and provide a calm and loving environment for the animals. This grooming salon is also exceptionally clean! It’s hard to find a groomer that you can trust, & I completely trust Jen and Tony with the care of my dogs in that they will be taken care of with love and patience. And they return home to me looking fabulous and happy! Thank you guys for all you do! We greatly appreciate you! Love you guys!

About

It all started in 1996…

Jennifer Farnum, a certified groomer and former veterinary technician opened her first grooming business -Cleo’s Salon on Wheels- one of the first mobile grooming salons in the Chester/Montgomery county areas. In 2010 and after years of mobile service, Jennifer and her husband Tony opened their first Cleopetras Grooming brick and mortar salon in Gladwyne, PA.

After years of service, the Exton couple sold the Gladwyne location and opened a salon right around the corner from their Exton home. Since 2017, Cleopetras has been providing premier grooming services to the community of Exton and surrounding areas where clients can feel secure knowing that a professional with over 25 years of grooming experience will be caring for their pets.
